Cricket, free crochet pattern

I would like to share with you this pattern created by Russian designer Elena Belova.
https://www.instagram.com/elenabelova2702/
This Cricket is a character of the children's book about Pinocchio.
The presented video pattern was created by another Russian-speaker crocheter (it seems that she lives in the USA). But since that video is presented only in Russian (even without English subtitles), I add the English-language pattern.
I want to thank Louise Carstens from South Africa, who worked a lot on the translation. Of course, she used the written pattern and the Google Translate (and you know, this is not easy work!) But she have translated almost everything, except for some specific Russian words and expressions. So I helped her and found that video version of the pattern. The doll above, by the way, is the result of my testing this pattern.
I hope this video and our addition will help you to make your Cricket.

Domovoy, part 1 - Legs

Today, I suggest you to crochet such a gnome (the Russians call him "DOMOVOY"). I will work using video tutorial in Russian. For each part of the video, I will add the text of the pattern in English.

The author crocheted the doll of 2 types of yarn: the head and body of fluffy white one; legs, hands, nose, ears are made of usual beige yarn.
Since I don't like crocheting the fluffy yarn, I plan to make the head and body of white homemade yarn. I will change the beige yarn to yellow one. My yellow yarn is thinner than my white yarn. Therefore, perhaps I will change the pattern a little. But, of course, I will give you the text of the original pattern.

Since this is not my design, then ( I am sorry) I cannot add this pattern to my Ravelry store as a pdf-file for downloading (but there you will find a lot of my free patterns). Therefore, watch the video on YOUTube, add your likes to the author, she will be pleased.
At the end of each part you will find a link to the next part.

So, start!

My dragon for Daenerys

I admit I'm a hardcore fan of "Game of Thrones". And so I look forward to the release
of the next season. I was very upset when Night King killed one of the dragons.
Therefore I decided to help our “good guys” and crocheted one more
dragon - the Red Flame Dragon. I'm even ready to fly it and fight
the Night King in person! :-)

The final size of the Dragon: the height - 11(27) cm, the wingspan 46(75) cm, the
length of the body from the horns to the tail 31(50) cm (depends on the thickness
of my yarn, see “Materials” for details)

The doll contains inside 3 wireframes of aluminum wire: in the wings, the Body
and the legs. This allows to pose it any position. The dragon can stand well
without resting on its tail.
There is no need for sewing when you make wings, everything is done only
with a crochet hook. The wireframe is inserted only in the upper finger of the
wing. However, the pattern is designed in such a way that when using a
thicker yarn (which may be too heavy for a wireframe), you can insert
the frame in all fingers in the same way.
The head is crocheted separately and sewn to the body. Some parts
require sewing together, but many are easy joined with a hook.

The pattern contains 33 pages of text and 60 step-by-step photos. There are
the steps where I use my original techniques that can cause questions.
Therefore, in addition to the text and the photos, I duplicated these steps with
videos. There are 4 of them and they are available by the links on Youtube.

Requirements for the level of skill: basic skills of crocheting and joining
doll details. However, some experience is desirable.

Materials:
Acrylic or blend (acrylic+cotton) yarn
I used: for red dragon - acrylic 30g/130m; for brown dragon - cotton
(55%)/polyacrylic (45%) 50g/160m
Hooks: 1.75 mm for the red yarn, for the brown yarn - 3mm for the
Head parts, 3.5 mm for the Body, the Wings and the Legs
As also:
  • filler of your choice
  • wire for frame d=1.5 - 2 mm  about 1- 2m (depend on your yarn)
  • sewing thread, row markers for marking
  • safe pin or row marker for saving a work loop during crocheting pause
  • piece of cardboard or plastic for foot insoles
  • yarn needle for sewing
  • tools for work with wire
